MindManager for AEC

Show Autodesk DWF Files in MindManager

• Install the free Autodesk DWF Viewer component to view CAD Files created by Autodesk Products.
• Install the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 from Windows Update if you haven't installed it already.
• Download and run the MM4AEC.msi installer.

• Create a topic with a hyperlink to a Autodesk DWF File.  You can use http://www.autodesk.com/global/dwf/samples/smaller_file_size_large.dwf as an example.
• Select the topic and right click to show its context menu.  Pick Make DWF Business Topic.
• Once the image is loaded, double-click on the CAD picture in the business topic to use the DWF Viewer to navigate and browse the DWF file.

• Images of 3D DWF files show only the upper left corner business topics.
• Some combinations of Video Display Drivers and DWF files will cause MindManager to shut down.  There doesn't seem to be any way to handle this gracefully.  We have had problems with the Intel display drivers that are OEM products in some notebook computers.  We are still investigating this…

• 11/1/2005 Fixed code so that unsupported 3D DWFs will not crash MindManager.
