Joining Mindjet from Cisco WebEx, Milner comes on board at a time when Mindjet's on-demand visual collaboration solutions are changing the definition of what it means to collaborate online.
Milner brings extensive experience in the collaboration and productivity space having worked at WebEx (acquired by Cisco) for several years. "Collaboration is much more than getting people in the same Web conference and taking static notes," said Milner. "It's about what you do in that session and the methods people use to work outside of the meeting that defines how and if people are truly collaborating. Collaboration does not just happen in the confines of a meetingthe meeting is just the starting point. Mindjet built its business on understanding that differencethat the way we visualize and relate to information can have a huge impact on how we work individually and in groups. It is this difference that is changing how we work today, and I'm delighted to join Mindjet's team to be a part of the visual collaboration movement."
In her role at Mindjet, Milner will be responsible for leading the company's marketing efforts around the globe. She brings 15 years of marketing experience, and most recently served as director of marketing, Europe for Cisco's WebEx Technology Group. Prior to Cisco's acquisition of WebEx, Milner was director of marketing, EMEA for WebEx Communications, where she was responsible for marketing programs, market growth and market penetration across the region. In three years at WebEx, she more than doubled the market growth in Europe and made it the fastest growing region in the company. Milner was also previously co-owner of Liquid Marketing, an integrated marketing agency, where she built a practice spearheading marketing strategy, online and offline advertising and brand positioning for global companies.
"Kate's expertise in driving brand recognition and demand will significantly help us to build leadership in the industry," said Scott Raskin, CEO, Mindjet. "Her knowledge of the collaboration and productivity space will help us reach a broader market and spread the word for what Mindjet stands forvisually working with information to better drive sales processes, manage projects, collaborate with others, or simply get things done."
In addition to Milner joining the Mindjet team, Abe Smith recently joined the company as senior director of sales for Americas.
