  1. Microsoft Fluent UI
    Benefit: By maintaining a perceived parity with Microsoft Office applications, users will be familiar with the application and eliminate ramp-up time when using MindManager 7. The new UI improves the use-ability of MindManager 7. Applicable for Pro and Lite.
  2. Integrate within Microsoft Applications
    Benefit: Link to topics from external applications. Maps can be launched from MS Office applications.
  3. Saved Queries
    Benefit: Reduces time to search for existing work. Now individuals can save time and facilitate knowledge transfer to new team members by using a Save Query to quickly access relevant information. A query is a collection of one or more criteria that MindManager looks for in a map and then applies a command to the matching topics

Known Issues:

7.1

General MindManager Pro & Lite 7:

  1. The MindManager 7 SP1 uninstall routine does not re-associate any file types with previous versions of MindManager if a previous version is installed.
    • a. User must run Repair Install on previous version of MindManager to re-associate file types.

7.0

General MindManager Pro & Lite 7:

  • Side by Side installation: You can run two versions of MindManager side by side, e.g., MindManager 6 & MindManager 7, MindManager X5 & MindManager 7, MindManager X5 & MindManager 6, but you cannot run all three versions on the same machine.
  • On Vista, if you uninstall MindManager 7 you will get a warning: "The setup must update... reboot will be required... ". Please restart your machine as requested.
  • On Vista, the installer may intermittently display “Window Explorer in use” during the install process. Clicking "Ignore" continues the install without ramifications

MindManager Pro 7:

  • Microsoft Office 2007 Integration on Vista: Mindjet has opened a ticket with Microsoft. Purportedly they have several tickets open with similar issues. The MindManager 7 Add-in for Excel may become unlinked and disabled if an Excel crash occurs. . In some instances, the add-in cannot be re-enabled. The problem has not been seen if you login as the local administrator or login as a domain user with administrative privileges
  • Microsoft Visio 2007 Integration: If you try to export a map to Visio, you will receive a warning, "Error "... contact technical support ...". This has only been seen when there are no Main or Subtopics.
  • Microsoft Project 2007Integration: On Vista German language only the first time MindManager Pro 7 is run, exports to MS Project 2007 may cause Project 2007 to crash. The solution: close MindManager Pro 7 after installing and running once.

MindManager Lite 7:

MindManager Admin 7:

- no known issues

MindManager 7 Mac:

  • A crash may occur If you remove a topic using the context menu and it the topic has an image that is selected.
  • Header/Footer: doesn't print when printing from Outline View
  • OPML: you can't drop opml files onto MindManger in the dock to open.
  • Installing MindManager 7 Mac will create new preferences, and doesn’t import the previous (MindManager6 Mac) preferences.
  • If you copy and paste the central topic, any floating topics also get copied and pasted and become callout topics on the pasted central topic.
