Because this weekend all of us state-siders are either attending someone’s Independence Day BBQ, or hosting one ourselves, MacKenzie’s map holds the key to ensure future summer BBQ success. We caught up with MacKenzie briefly this week to ask her what it feels like being the recipient of this month’s award.
Q: Where are you from?
A: Traverse City, Michigan (aka: the Cherry Capital of the World). Located in northern lower Michigan. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!
Q: What do you do?
A: I am the Projects and Planning Coordinator for Hagerty Insurance (much like a typical Project Manager). I project manage a variety of projects as well as conduct internal project management training, conduct forums, mentor department level project managers, and assist in the facilitation of strategy planning. Outside of my “day job”, I also serve on a few community service boards, ski coach for a local Jr. ski club, and participate in a number of hobbies.
Q: How do you use MindManager?
A: I utilize MindManager on a daily basis for group brainstorming sessions, project work plans, and to organize and manage my own personal and professional priorities.
Q: Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
A: Everything happens for a reason
Q: What is your favorite occupation?
A: Part-time event planner/Part-time “stay at home” Mom and…. maybe a little ski coaching on the side.
Q: What is your life motto?
A: Live the life you love!
Q: What’s winning the Mappies feel like?
A: It feels great! I really enjoyed creating the map and am honored to me chosen for the inaugural selection for such a reputable company.
