Chief Executive Officer
Patrick Nichols serves as Corel’s CEO and joined the company in 2009. Before becoming Chief Executive Officer, Patrick held the role of President of WinZip and General Manager of Corel, Roxio, Pinnacle and ReviverSoft, leading the transformation of Corel’s acquired brands and setting the strategic direction of the company’s product lines. Patrick has played a key role in Corel’s success, serving on the management team responsible for nearly tripling the company’s operating income over the last three years.
Prior to joining Corel, Patrick served as a General Manager within the Trilogy/Versata family of companies where he was responsible for new acquisitions and business ownership of a portfolio of Versata companies. Before joining Trilogy/Versata, Patrick worked as a product manager and technical consultant at Microsoft, and served as a researcher for the Department of Defense and Department of Energy through the Cornell Engineering and Theory Center. He holds a BS from Cornell University.
Chief Financial Officer
Brad Jewett is Corel’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for leading the company’s finance and M&A activities. A recent addition to Corel’s executive management team, Brad brings a wealth of experience in the fields of finance and risk management. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of OpenLink Financial where he successfully strengthened the capital structure of the company and enabled Openlink to transform from a regional to a global operating model.This strategy enabled OpenLink to expand and execute within existing and new addressable markets, including the introduction of a new cloud business.
Brad implemented and led the Enterprise Risk Management programs at both Microsoft and BMC Software, providing the Board of Directors of both companies insights and oversight to the most material risks facing their organizations. As a business unit CFO, Brad managed a $1B business and also helped transition BMC Software from a NASDAQ listed company to a private organization. Brad has an MBA in finance from Vanderbilt University – Owen Graduate School of Management and a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Chris Carsen is Corel’s General Counsel, leading the company’s contracting, intellectual property, litigation, and compliance operations globally. With 20 years of experience in information technology law, Chris is skilled at mitigating corporate risk while keeping a keen eye on shareholder value. A highly-strategic and creative thinker with a strong business acumen, Chris serves as a valued partner to leaders and teams across the organization, lending her knowledge and insight in support of a wide range of objectives.
Prior to arriving at Corel, Chris served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Mattersight Corporation, where for nearly a decade she led the structuring and negotiation of complex SaaS transactions with Fortune 500 enterprises, as well as intellectual property management, SEC compliance, corporate governance, and board governance. She was previously a partner at Winston & Strawn LLP, where she focused on information-technology transactions, privacy matters, and other corporate and commercial contracts.
Chris earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School, and received her B.A. in history and psychology from the University of Iowa
Executive Vice President of Global Operations
Prasannaa Ganesan is Corel’s EVP of Global Operations, leading the company’s business operations and expense management. Prasannaa is responsible for a number of areas at Corel including information technology (infrastructure and enterprise systems), release management, customer service and technical support, and manufacturing. His teams deliver an efficient and scalable platform that enables departments across the company to achieve Corel’s strategic goals. Respected for his strong sense of fiscal responsibility, he’s played a key role in dramatically increasing profitability across all of Corel’s business groups.
Prasannaa joined Corel as Director of Operations for WinZip in 2010. Prior to this, he served as Program and Delivery Director at Versata and Trilogy. Prasannaa pursued his Masters of Science in Electrical engineering from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University following a Bachelor of Engineering from Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy. An engineer at heart, he has a passion for automation and gadgets.
Executive Vice President of Global eCommerce and Digital Marketing
Rob Charlebois is Corel’s EVP of Global eCommerce and Digital Marketing, leading the company’s global online sales and marketing strategies across all its product lines, including Corel, WinZip, Roxio, Pinnacle, ReviverSoft and MindManager. During his 12-year tenure, Rob has been responsible for building Corel’s direct ecommerce model which now accounts for almost 50% of the company’s total revenue. Rob’s blended background in technology and marketing has enabled him to lead the evolution of Corel’s global marketing platform, setting the direction of all online customer touchpoints and back-end technology development. Previously, Rob served as Sr. Director of eCommerce for WinZip as well as Director of eCommerce for Corel.
Prior to joining Corel, Rob has held various strategic marketing positions at companies including Buystream, N-able Technologies and Nexinnovations. He holds a Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Ottawa and a Diploma in Architecture from Algonquin College. When Rob isn’t slaving over metrics and dashboards, he can be found on the ice playing hockey or wake surfing on Lake Austin.
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Jason Wesbecher is Corel’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and leads the company’s global sales organization. With more than 20 years working in the B2B software industry, Jason is an enterprise evangelist with a passion for tech and delivering outstanding customer experiences. Previously, Jason served as Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Customer Acquisition at Mattersight and also founded Docket, a sales enablement software company backed by Austin Ventures and First Round Capital. Jason also helped guide Jive Software through an IPO and has held sales leadership positions at eLoyalty, Siebel Systems, TIBCO Software and Trilogy.
Jason has a BA in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He’s known for his work within the Austin start-up ecosystem and has served as a contributor to Entrepreneur Magazine and Huffington Post.
Vice President of Global Products
Gérard Métrailler is Corel’s Vice President of Global Products. In this role, he is responsible for developing and maintaining worldwide product strategy across all of Corel’s software brands including CorelDRAW, MindManager and WinZip. With a strong focus on customer needs and workflow, his mandate is to continue delivering award-winning products and to grow revenue by giving customers choice with attractive perpetual licensing and subscription models.
Before joining Corel in 2003, Gérard served in various product management roles at Meeting Maker and Micrografx. Gérard speaks fluent English, French and German and was educated in Management at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and in Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Gérard holds a Certificate of Business Excellence from the Haas Business School, Berkeley, California. In his free time, you can find him enjoying his private pilot license, flying out of Ottawa’s local Rockcliffe airport.
Vice President of Global Sales Operations
Jessica Sinden is Corel’s Vice President of Global Sales Operations where she is responsible for revenue and sales planning, including forecasting, analysis, and sales administration. With a passion for data, Jessica brings a deep understanding of every dimension of Corel’s product sales and her insights play a critical role in driving the company’s success in markets world wide. Jessica joined Corel in 2002 and previously served as a New Business Development Manager at HK Wentworth. She has a B.A. degree from the University of Durham.
